The Spaniard Jaume Masià crossed the line third, but a penalty for exceeding the boundaries of the track relegated him to 4th place. Dennis Foggia took 9th place after a great comeback from 19th place on the grid.
The Spaniard started from 6th position on the grid and did not have a perfect start, but anyway, as the laps went by he recovered positions, he even took the lead in the race and imposed his pace. Masià seemed to be comfortably adapted to his bike. He fought with the front group and swapped positions, and on the last lap, when third, he went over the edge of the track as he tried to hold on to his position. At the end of the race he was given a penalty. Jaume Masià finished fourth in the Qatar Grand Prix.
On the other side of the box, Dennis Foggia started the race from 19th on the grid and made a great comeback to reach the leader group. Foggia fought for the podium, he was fast and determined and clearly showed the potential he has with the Leopard Racing motorbike. He finally finished in ninth place.
After today’s results, Leopard Racing Team GRO is the third team in the standings with 20 points. As this is the first race for both riders with their new team and bike, we can be quite happy. What is clear is that our riders are strong and the bike is super-fast (second fastest of the weekend, after yesterday’s 246.0 km/h).
According to the current calendar, the next race will be in Austin on 5 April!
